P&G and Walmart aimed to both encourage recycling of previously non-recyclable items (plug-in air fresheners) by collecting and shipping them to Terracycle and incentivize trial of the newly redesigned Febreze plug-in. P&G leveraged TPG’s Barcode Buck$ digital reward platform to reward consumers who traded in their old plug-in at any Walmart location with a Free Febreze Plug-in.
